How to get what services
Information Center:
One information center will be set up in each of the 490 upazilas of Bangladesh under the project. In each information center 01 information service officer and 02 information service assistant will be engaged in providing information service. These are known as "Tottho Apa" in the project area. Tottho apa will complete the activities of communication through internet, taking opinions of various experts, primary health care, ensuring easy availability of government services in the upazila, video conferencing, e-learning, e-commerce etc. Apart from this, totthoapa will provide various information services related to education, health, law, business, gender and agriculture by visiting the homes of the villagers in the project area through the use of laptops.

 

 
Information Services:
Providing information services through internet: The data center will have round-the-clock internet connection. Beneficiaries of the project will be provided free internet browsing, e-mail, video conferencing services through Skype. Besides, job news, results of various examinations, information of various government services will be provided free of cost.

 

 
Primary health care: The following primary health services will be provided free of cost from the information centers:
1. Blood pressure test
2. Weight measurement
3. Diabetes test

. Providing door to door service: The Information Service Officers and Information Assistants assigned to each Information Center will go to the houses of the concerned Upazilas to solve various problems related to education, health, law, business, gender and agriculture through the use of laptops and through Skype through Conversations of the service recipients with the concerned Upazila Nirbahi Officers and Upazila Department Officers. Solve problems quickly and effectively.

 

 

 

 

.Yard meeting - open discussion and awareness activities: In addition to providing information services through information centers, rural grassroots women will be made aware of modern technology by organizing backyard meetings for service recipients. 40-50 rural women will participate in each yard meeting. Two backyard meetings will be held in each information center every month. Various issues related to the life and livelihood of rural women such as health issues, child marriage, fatwas, violence against women, employment information, legal issues and various aspects of digital services (e-mail, video conferencing) will be informed. The information service officers and information service assistants working in the information center will show the rural women present at the yard meeting how to get the service through real use of internet. Concerned Upazila Nirbahi Officers, Agriculture Officers, Education Officers, Fisheries Officers, Health Officers, Government IT Specialists and various Government Officers will be present as Resource Persons on Information Technology, Education, Medicine, Agriculture etc. In addition, local women entrepreneurs, women lawyers, social workers, community leaders will also discuss various social issues such as: prevention of child marriage, dowry prohibition law, domestic violence and women's policy.

 

 
Advantages of using modern information technology from the project: 
Under the totthoApa project, in addition to information services from the information center, door to door services, web portals, data repositories and IP TVs created by the project have provided access to information and knowledge to all levels of women in Bangladesh, including rural women.

 
. Web portal:
The main premise of the web portal is women. Database and IP TV have been connected to this web portal made in Bengali and English. The web portal contains detailed information about various women's service organizations, their programs and scope of activities. There are also various types of communication including blogging and online application submission.

 Data base:
The database contains information on education, health, agriculture, gender, law, business, etc., and women and children. The database also contains textual, audio-video, animation content. Women in rural and suburban areas are the main beneficiaries of the database. However, the service recipients of the database can be educators, researchers, policy makers and experts in various fields, regardless of people of all classes and professions.

IP TV:
The web portal created under the project has an online IP TV. This TV can be seen through the web portal. The main focus of the programs aired on this TV is on women's issues. There is a collection of videos and stills.

 Mind Inspire to National Achievement:
Enthusiastic women in the project area will be organized through backyard meetings and Self Help Groups (SHG) and will be members of the Mind Inspire to National Achievement team. Members of "Promise to Achieve National Achievements" will serve as a symbolic awakening for women in ITES (Information Technology Enable Services), e-learning, merchandising and other technical work. Once completed, the project will encourage local women to use their Internet-based knowledge in information technology.

 

 
E-learning:
Mind Inspire to National Achievement and Self Help Group members need to be provided e-learning training through textual, audio, video content. This will increase their ITES skills. The e-learning system will include features like live classes, live broadcast lectures, pre-arranged online classrooms, 24-hour e-learning channels, video galleries, mobile TV, live streaming and more.

 
Training:
Under the project, 490 information service officers and 960 information service assistants will be recruited for 490 information centers. Only female candidates will be appointed to this post. They will act as tottho apa. Appointed Information Service Officers and Information Service Assistants have been identified as an important part of the project to develop them through proper training so that they can provide information services in the field with utmost efficiency.
To this end, training will be provided on ICT, project management, government regulations, accounting, budget control, office management and gender issues. In addition, training will be imparted on various service activities of the Ministry of Women and Children's Affairs with a clear idea about the law and policies related to women's rights.
